J.K. Rowling announced about a year ago that she will pen a screenplay by herself for "The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". She stated that WB first approached her with the idea and she started writing a screenplay because she was the only one knowing much about him. It will take place 70 years before Harry Potter began his journey into the magical world. Also, WB released the dates:

FILM ADVICE WEDNESDAY 2#:
WHY DO WE USE SHOTS AND ANGLES?

Yeah, really, I mean, why would we use a special angle, like dutch tilt or angle in a movie? It doesn't make any sense, right? Why would've bother writing that in our screenplay when it has no sense? We'll film it like we should later, with a camera. No need for that, right? Well, you're wrong in so many levels:
  1. First of all, you're visually showing what is going on and how you imagined it.
  2. Then, shots and angles bring emotions to the movie. Like dutch angle says that something's maybe wrong. Over the shoulder shot helps us know who's talking.
  3. We have idea of what we're filming. I mean, what if you don't write the shots and angles? Maybe your movie doesn't turn out right? Remember that.
Okay now:
LESSON NO. 2:
From an idea to the script to the screenplay and into a motion picture.

Imagine a movie... Like... Imagine Spider-Man or Batman. Then enemies Green Goblin, Doc Ock or Joker and Two-Face. Now you've got the ground for making the idea. But, it's not finished yet. The story, the genre; this doesn't have to be about Spider-Man or Batman. No. It can be a romcom, a sci-fi... or anything... Imagine two people on the bridge kissing, or two people on a spaceship, holding their hands, waiting for their doom... and laser guns... Good right? But, wait, don't get to euphoric, you're not done yet. First you'll have to download a script-writing program. There's a nice free one Trelby- go to their site and you can download for PC and Mac for free. Now when you got that program, you have to familiar with these kind of programs. Example:
INT. COFFEE SHOP.
This is called scene. This is the location of the scene.
Then you've got this (example):
CARRIE and JOSEPH are walking trough the coffee shop. They suddenly see GORDON sitting there.
This is called action. Here we present what the characters are doing. And you are wondering, why are the characters' names are in upper case. Well, that's because of this (example):
GORDON
Ah, Carrie! Joseph! I was waiting for you!
Now let's analyze this: GORDON-CHARACTER. "Ah, Carrie! Joseph! I was waiting for you!"-dialog. With the character we mark who's speaking right now. And with the dialog we mark what's he speaking.
You know for shots and angles already, so I'm skipping to transitions:
MATCH CUT TO:
JUMP CUT TO:
BACK TO:
CUT TO:
SMASH CUT TO:
FADE OUT TO BLACK
Okay, so in the next post, I'm going to say what all these transitions mean and why are they important. Script and screenplay lesson is not yet finished. See you next Wednesday.

Get mean with:

MALEFICENT (WITH SPOILERS OF COURSE)

WARNING! IF YOU DIDN'T SEE THE MOVIE YOU SHOULD PROBABLY SKIP TO THE RATING!
So, I really recommend this movie for you to watch. So, what I liked:
-The beginning was really good. They made Maleficent's history. I liked how she was interested in humans after she met Stephan. But, then on her 16th birthday, she got a kiss from Stephan, as a gift. He said it was a true love's kiss. But it wasn't. Then their paths separated. Later, when she grows up, king Henry leads an army to The Moors, but then come all creatures from The Moors and help Maleficent fight. Henry's sickness soon came after a lost battle and he wanted somebody to inherit him. So, the One needed to kill Maleficent ("the winged creature). Stephan dared to go to The Moors. He tricked Maleficent and when she fell asleep, he tried to kill her with a knife. He couldn't. So he took an iron ring and lots of iron and cut off her wings somehow. He brought them to Henry and soon became the king. Then... blah, blah, blah... It comes to Aurora's birth and she gives her the gift. The curse can not be stopped, but then Stephan begs her. She says that she can be only awaken by a true love's kiss, considering that there's no such thing.
-One thing was a little disappointing. That the true love's kiss wasn't by prince Philip, but by Maleficent herself, when she changed her mind and wanted to save Aurora. Don't worry, it wasn't in the mouth. It was in Aurora's forehead. But, for me it was also good, because I think that there is no greater love than the "parent (it doesn't need to be a one, just a guardian)" to a child it raised.
-Another thing was that Stephan died (killed by Maleficent). But, still, he also kinda deserved it.
So, it is short-90 minutes, but still it felt like I was watching a 120 minute movie.
So, how do I rate this movie? It's T.L.M (True Love's Movie). I do not recommend this to much younger children, just from 9 year olds.

So, that's it for today guys? What do you want me to do next?

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone

The magic begins!

HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (WITH SPOILERS)

So, why do I recommend this film?
-Because it's got some really good characters.
-The moral of it is great.
-The book series are great.
-The story is great.
Okay, let's start how good the book was followed. The first chapter was almost the same like in the book.
-Then the villain. Voldemort. He's almost untouchable. But, he can be only destroyed with love that was given to Harry by his mother.
-It's got some pretty funny scenes.
-Still, this movie is for... 10-year olds or a little less, like 8 or 9, but not under.
-Okay, so, the whole organization was good! The train, the castle...
-The casting. They did a brilliant casting:
Harry Potter-Daniel Radcliffe
Ron Weasley-Rupert Grint
Hermione Granger- Emma Watson.
Professor McGonnagal-Maggie Smith
Severus Snape-Alan Rickman
Rubeus Hagrid- Robbie Coltrane
Albus Dumbledore-Richard Hariss

Okay, so that's all for today guys! What do you want me to do next?

Frozen

Get your frost on with:

FROZEN

(WITH SPOILERS, OF COURSE PEOPLE!)

Okay, so let's get our frost on with Disney's Frozanne... I mean Frozen.
Okay, so, why you should definitely watch this movie:
-The humor is amazing!
-The soundtrack is beautiful!
-The characters' stories are wonderful!
-You never went to Disneyland so you have to watch this to experience the Disney... I mean... I don't know!
-The moral of the movie is that you should love when you can and that love is the greatest weapon of them all.
-Do not fall in love on the first sight.
-Then, we've got The Snowman who really wants to feel summer, but is not aware of the fact he will melt.
-The movie has a much deeper meaning: Elsa is afraid of harming her sister, so she isolates herself. And it kind of reminds me of depression. When you're depressed, you lock yourself and don't let anyone come in (The "Conceal. Don't feel, don't let them know" method). But, sometimes you realize that you just can let it go.
-Anna is just her sister who wants to spend time with Elsa. She wants to cheer her up, but she fails, because Elsa is living in fear, and she can't come out. But, there was always a way: respect and love what you've got. So that ended the frost and the winter.
-Swen is funny and his friendship with Cristoph.
-So, one of the reasons is that song: Let it go.
There are two versions: 1. The movie version (Idina Menzel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moSFlvxnbgk)
2. Demi Lovato (The first version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHue-HaXXzg
So, how do I rate this movie? F.H.T.F.D.B.D.M-which stands for For the Thousand Time in Forever it's Beautiful Disney Movie.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what do you want me to rate next? Next is Maleficent, and then these are the choices: Batman Begins, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone, The Amazing Spider Man and Transformers: The Age Of Extinction.
That's all for today!

You didn't see this one coming:

THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN 2 (WITH SPOILERS, OF COURSE):

The first reason why you should watch this movie is:
-Because it has a great story and great characters.
Reason number 2:
-Because the intro was AWESOME. So, what happens in the intro that I liked. I liked the plane scene a lot and how the movie actually began. Richard Parker was risking his life to destroy what he has made. He calls himself a monster in a video diary that later fits in so good in the movie. The video diary is interrupted by Peter showing his dad what happened in his office, which brings us to the intro of the first film (I will review that movie later). So, his parents leave Peter at his uncle and aunt's house and they say they will have to leave for a while. He's sad and they leave. But, another part of the scene is shown. They are already in the plane and Mary has found a resort for them on the Geneva lake, or in Geneva. Richard tries to go to the cockpit and check if everything is alright, but then a man stops him. Richard wants to go and check it, but the man is still stopping him.
Before that they were sending everything what they have done on their laptop to an address "Roosevelt". Later Peter finds out that that is a secret subway line made for president Roosevelt so nobody would see that he had children's cerebral paralysis. And there is a fight in the plane between the two men so it brings it to shooting windows. So, the man who wanted to stop Richard dies, but also Mary dies. The man was closing the laptop, but he never made to do it again so the upload was finished. Soon, Richard dies too. He protected his wife to the last moment.
-Okay, next. I liked the intro and the score! Hans Zimmer did a great job!
-Shots, and everything was beautiful!
-Then, one moment in a car chase when Peter's phone rings. The tune is the Spider Man theme from the 60's cartoon.
-The villains and their origin stories. I was kind of amazed when I saw that Norman died, but still, when I saw how much Harry started to hate Spider Man, I was much more interested in this new Green Goblin. The where he turns into The Goblin I do not recommend to people who have epilepsy or such light-sensitive disease. Or the whole movie. I liked the Osborn back story about the disease. I loved the way Harry found out about Oscorp's deepest secrets.
Then how he acted The Green Goblin on a great way! It was so good, and kinda creepy. The pumpkin bombs were really great and the clock fight also.
Then Electro. He was just Max Dillon and then fell into electricity and water full of electric eals. Then his voice and everything. Jamie Foxx did a fantastic job there.
The Rhino was the funniest. We don't know much about him, but he was really funny.
-The teasers:
The ending. I got goosebumps when I saw Vulture and Doc Ocks suit. Amazing!
Then, visit The Daily Bugle on Tumblr. And there really is a page of them there.
The Daily Bugle.
Felicia Hardy. We don't know is she Felicia Hardy, but still her name is Felicia. So, we could expect the Black cat in the Sinister Six.
-The last battle:
It was absolutely amazing!
-So, another thing:
How the characters develop. They act like real humans and they do do some inhumane things.
So, how do I rate this movie? T.A.M. What does this stand for? The Amazing Movie (2, if you want).

So that's it for today guys. Please comment!
